PHQ - CANMET-MMSL and L'UNIVÉRSITÉ DE SHERBROOKE INVENT A REVOLUTIONARY NEW ANTI-VIBRATION JACKLEG HANDLE
 

Featured at CIM2007 Montreal - with hands-on demonstrations at PHQ's Booth

PHQ handed out brochures featuring the new Anti Vibration Jackleg Control Handle to delegates to CIM2007 Montreal.  The new handle was developed in partnership with Université de Sherbrooke and CANMET-MMSL at the request of SOREDEM and with the research funded by several major Mining Companies including IamGold, GoldCorp, WestDome and Agnico Eagle in cooperation with Le Institut de Recherché Robert-Sauvé en Santé et en Sécurité du Travail (IRSST) over a seven year period.

CANMET-MMSL provided a working demonstration model of the difference between the Anti Vibration Jackleg Control Handle and standard Jackleg Control Handle and over 100 delegates instantly experienced the major difference in vibration, hands-on at CIM2007 in the PHQ Booth

Ten handles have been tested in actual production environments over a six month period, confirming 60% vibration reductions experienced in bench tests and measuring the durability of the handle and parts.
